What is your class fee?

I have decided to teach Parent Infant Massage Classes through our local children's program associated with the city's park and recreation dept. I have never taught classes before, only provided the service in a hospital setting. I need help determining the charge for the 4 session course and the facility usually splits the profit 50/50 or 60/40. What do you charge for your classes?
Thanks,
Heather

Charge for teaching an infant massage class

I am looking into assisting our local hospital with establishing an infant massage course, through their community relations department, but not sure how much to charge for my services of teaching the course. I would like some feed back from those of you who may have some experience and know what a typical going rate would be. Right now I am looking at doing a 2-3 session course. I would also be providing the oils & the instruction booklets. Does anyone have any advise?

charging for classes

It depends on what your goal is. In a hospital setting, they may just allow you to have the space for little or no charge.
In some places I have seen instructors charge 30-85 dollars for a 3-4 session class.
Are you going to include the booklet & oil???
Handouts?
The hospital that I had a program at for several years would not let me be a part of their educational services, however I applied for a grant through the Hospitals Foundation and it paid for everything, and it ended up being a joint project. So they helped with the marketing, and I was allowed to set up a table at the childbirth ed classes, so parents could sign up on their way in.
I encourage you to make this a cooperative adventure. It may mean giving away a bit of your time at first. Remember this is a preventative program which helps create healthy bonds, and sale this to the hosptial in this respect.
Good luck!
