- About Me
I began my professional career, in Early Childhood Development, after graduating from Adrian College(MI) in 1979. I enjoyed working as a Nanny for twin boys in Ann Arbor, MI until 1983, when I moved to Chicago. Following, I worked in a Day Care Center as a Teacher for Infants, Toddlers and Two- year- old children, as an Assistant Director and finally, as an acting Director. In 1985, I became a Mom and stayed at home for the next two years to enjoy time with my daughter. At that time I opted to take a position as a Head Start Teacher in a local School District. After a brief time, I was offered and I accepted a teaching position with the ISBE Pre-K program. Two years later, I was the recipient of the Crown Rothman Fellowship, for a graduate MAT degree. Having fulfilled that wonderful opportunity, my career at Indian Springs School District #109 (since 1991) has been to provide Parent Education for the ISBE Parental Training/Prevention Initiatives. I love my career. Having had the wonderful experience of learning and teaching the art of Infant Massage has provided me with the opportunity to offer parents a way to connect with their children through, TOUCH....and to prepare them in their role as the first teacher their child will have.
