- About Me
I originally trained as an Infant Massage instructor with Diana Moore in 1988 while working on an MA in Infant Mental Health. Since then, I have raised two beautiful daughters who benefitted from being massaged every day as infants and being cared for in an attachment parenting style.
As a childbirth educator, I incorporate instruction of Infant Massage and Happiest Baby on the Block during my Newborn Care classes. I have served as a birth and postpartum doula to local midwives, teaching infant massage during home visits to new parents.
I recently completed licensure as a Practical Nurse in 2007. I currently work in a Family Medical practice and teach childbirth education and infant massage at Island Hospital in Anacortes.
I have also led inservice trainings in Infant Massage to Early Head Start lead teachers. Fostering Together, a program in our state that supports foster parents of substance-affected infants, has put me on their regular speakers list to give presentations to their parents on Infant Massage and the importance of touch in infancy.
