My birth credentials include: Certified Pre & Perinatal Massage Therapy with Carole Osborne-Sheets, Body Therapy Associates, Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI®) with Loving Touch Foundation, certified hypno doula with HypnoBabies, Dona trained doula, trained labor assistant with toLabor (formerly ALACE), Local Sponsor for toLabor Labor Assistant Training (June 2009 - May 2010), Childbirth Educator in training with International Birth and Wellness Project (formerly ALACE), ABMP member, graduate of nationally recognized Body Therapy Institute, and NC License #5345. I also hold a BA from High Point College in Sociology.
My two children were both attended by midwives and doulas. My 8 year old son was born at the Women’s Birth and Wellness Center in Chapel Hill and my 4 year old daughter was born at home with a CPM. I recently retired after almost 5 years as a volunteer leader in a mother to mother breastfeeding support group.
